What we do not do

Warylens has no analytics, no tracking scripts, no advertising network, no cookies set by us, no accounts, no newsletter, no comment system, and no embedded social widgets.

We do not know who you are, which pages you read, or where you came from. This is not a privacy feature we are marketing — it is a consequence of the site being static HTML with a small amount of JavaScript that runs entirely in your browser.

The tools

The five checks on this site run wholly in your browser. What you tick is processed by JavaScript on the page and rendered back to you. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored in your browser between visits, and nothing is written to any server — there is no server-side application here to receive it. Close the tab and it is gone.

What does happen

Two things, described accurately rather than minimised.

Server logs. Like any website, the server that delivers these pages records requests: an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, and a browser user-agent string. This is ordinary web-server operation and is used for keeping the site running and for security. We do not analyse it to profile readers and it is not combined with anything else.

A content delivery network. The site is served through a CDN, which processes request data in order to deliver pages and protect against attacks. That is the only other party involved.

Worth stating what is not here, because it used to be: the typefaces were originally loaded from Google Fonts, which meant your browser contacted Google on every visit. They are now served from this domain, so that request no longer happens. The change was made for page-stability reasons rather than privacy ones, and the privacy improvement came along with it — it is logged on the corrections page.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to regulators, official documentation and exchange help pages. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy. The single referral link on this site, described on the disclosure page, passes a referral code to Binance so that a registration can be attributed to us — that is what a referral code is for, and it is the only piece of information any link here transmits about how you arrived.

Your rights

Data-protection law in several jurisdictions, including the EU and UK GDPR, gives you rights to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about readers beyond the server logs described above, so in practice there is usually nothing to access or erase. If you believe we hold something about you, write to the desk and we will tell you what there is.

If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you wrote, for as long as the correspondence is useful. We do not add it to any list, because there is no list.

Changes

If this page changes materially, the change is logged on the corrections page along with everything else we alter.
